What to See at World Science Festival Brisbane 2016

Can music improve brain function? Are germs beautiful to watch? What do real-life astronauts have to say about dust storms on Mars (and Matt Damon’s acting)? You can find out this week as Brisbane plays host to World Science Festival.

This annual event kicked off in New York in 2008, steered by the husband-and-wife team of physicist and author Brian Greene and former television news producer Tracy Day. It pitches its program at a wide audience with events that bring together science and the arts.

WSF Brisbane marks the first time the event has been held outside New York, gathering the best and brightest minds from around the world in South Brisbane’s streets, parks and cultural venues.

Forget the usual museum-y fare and rethink what you know (or don’t know) about science. Here are our picks for this year’s program.
